Console players may have the advantage when it comes to Grand Theft Auto VI’s release next year but that does not mean that Xbox fans are feeling happy right now.

As with all Rockstar titles, PC users will have to wait as it is most likely GTA VI will first release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

However, it is Xbox users that have been dealt a blow lately after rumours surrounding resolution.
Although it seems as though PS5 and Xbox Series X users won’t be affected, the same can’t be said for the Xbox Series S.
As the less powerful of the current-gen Xbox consoles, a recent video by gaming analyst group Digital Foundry has predicted that GTA VI will only be able to run at 720p on the hardware.
With rumours that Rockstar’s upcoming title is officially the most expensive game ever made, we can only imagine how detailed and graphically enhanced it will be.

As a result, getting to experience it at a measly 720p is heartbreaking to say the least.
According to the Digital Foundry group, the console’s low specs combined with GTA VI’s hefty requirements will see the game run at a much lower resolution.
However, the Series S could use FSR reconstruction to up that pixel count a bit more.
Either way, fans are less than pleased with the news.

“I’m not trying to offend anyone who has the Series S, but that console is holding back so many games,” one comment read.
“It never should have been made.”
Another said: “I kinda hate the idea that supporting this dumb console means precious time lost on actually optimizing for next gen potential, just for making it ‘run’ at all on this potato.
Such a waste of time and resources.”

It is worth remembering that this is just a rumour so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.
However, it will be a big blow for Xbox Series S users if it is true.
