It’s genuinely difficult to think of any upcoming game that’s more highly anticipated than GTA VI. It’s really no wonder that fans are so excited - it’s been over eight years since the release of GTA V, and in that time, we’ve just continually been fed rereleases of it and its predecessors. Oh, and paid subscription services for GTA Online. That went down well, didn’t it?
Well, February this year finally brought some kind of peace, when it was officially confirmed that the next game in the series is in active development. Rejoice! Unfortunately, that’s all we actually know about it - we don’t even know if it’s going to be called GTA VI, but let’s just roll with that for now. All that uncertainty invites a whole load of rumours and claims from insiders, whether that’s regarding the actual content in the game, or just when we can expect to learn more about it.
Before we get into it, be sure to take a look at some of the funniest GTA V wins and fails right here.
Today, as you may have guessed from the headline, we’re talking about the latter. As reported by GameRant, KRYPTO9095, a YouTuber best known for his GTA content, has teased that we may be getting some news soon. Late last week, he tweeted out, simply, “GTA 6 is coming”, along with a GIF showing Rockstar Games’ logo being held up. On its own, this didn’t seem to mean much, but his followers were quick to point out that when he posted the tweet, the official Rockstar Games account was reportedly following him.
Later, @NEWSLEAKSGTAS spotted that the YouTuber has also updated his channel banner to what appears to be a mockup logo for the game. That’s when another large account, @ElNitro56, came into things. As GameRant writes, in tweets sent to KRYPTO9095 and GTA VI leak accounts, he claimed to be KRYPTO9095’s co-worker, and said (translated by Google) that leakers “are close to the truth”.
Now, neither of these people are known to be reliable sources when it comes to insider information, so please do take all this with a very generous pinch of salt. One thing is for sure though, the next GTA game is definitely on its way - hopefully it won’t be too long until we see it in action.
