It’s only been a few weeks since the release of the first official trailer for GTA VI, so details at this time are vague, which is why the speculative rumour mill continues to spin.
When the debut Grand Theft Auto VI trailer dropped, social media hit a fever pitch and it was damn near impossible to avoid any mention of the popular series from developer Rockstar Games. In fact, fans are already speculating when the second GTA VI trailer will arrive.

There has been gossip making the rounds related to the leading cast from GTA V returning in the next game, those characters being Michael De Santa, Trevor Philips and Franklin Clinton. I won't give any major spoilers away, but depending on the choices that you make towards the end of GTA V, all three of those characters can survive. This has led to speculation of their return and the topic of today’s discussion is Michael De Santa.

During an interview with Larry Lawton, Michael De Santa actor Ned Luke appeared to get all flustered at the mere mention of the character returning in GTA VI. During the introduction of the interview, Larry Lawton says that Ned Luke stars in GTA V and GTA VI, to which the actor attempted to correct that statement straight away.
It’s unclear whether the interviewer dropped the mention to fluster Ned Luke for a gotcha moment or whether he thought the actor was genuinely in the upcoming game. However, judging by the expression on Luke’s face, he was at least caught off guard by the mention. Of course, this could mean absolutely nothing, but that hasn't stopped fans from speculating on Reddit.
“Michael in GTA VI?” asked Redditor Salty-Question7044 kicking off the speculative question in the thread. “Look at Ned Luke's reaction when the moderator announced him as in GTA VI. He tries to change the subject very quickly.”

“He’s likely trying to change the subject to avoid getting drawn into some ridiculous rumour mill that would embarrass himself in the end by having to retract or correct a bunch of made-up s**t,” suggested WhatsHeBuilding. “He stopped himself from saying 'I’m not in GTA VI' and instead said 'GTA VI is unknown right now'. I get the impression he might have told Larry before the interview and now regrets it,” replied njbmartin.
Only time will tell if Ned Luke will reprise his role in GTA VI as well as the other two main characters from GTA V. Grand Theft Auto VI will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025.
