Rockstar Games may have accidentally confirmed some of the details regarding GTA VI’s map size following a recent leak.
You may have seen not too long ago that someone made a playable GTA VI map using what was seen in the trailer as a reference point.
The trailer didn’t give us that much to go off but clearly it was enough for some individuals
Unfortunately that playable map is no longer available as its creator took it down, presumably because it was gathering too much attention or Rockstar Games approached them directly.

It’s understandable to play it safe and remove the map, but it’s also led to a startling realisation that if Rockstar Games had an issue with it, it could mean the map was more accurate than we once thought.
In a Reddit thread by Comfortable-Tea7031 mocking “We got GTA VI mod banned before GTA VI” fans theorised that Rockstar may have taken the map down for another reason aside from the obvious copyright infringement.
“Do you think it's one of those ‘they are getting too close to the real thing. We have to take it down.’ Situations? Or is this just a R* thing” said one of the comments.
It’s an unlikely story as many fans pointed out the map recreation wasn’t necessarily a recreation of GTA VI, just the area of Florida that it’s presumably based on.

Rockstar Games and its publisher Take-Two Interactive are also against modding in general, as seen with a recreation of GTA IV’s map in GTA V.
It’s infuriating for sure as half the time these mods aren’t causing any trouble, they’re just cool fan projects that are shared for free and give players more to do with their games.
That said we wouldn’t need stuff like this if Rockstar would just give us more promotional material to dive into…
