GTA VI’s controller layout may have just surfaced online, showcasing what appears to be an exciting new gameplay mechanic.
It’s nice to know that we’re on the final descent towards Grand Theft Auto VI. Whilst we may not have an exact release date, the vague window of 2025 is enough to know that the end is in sight. Following a recent Take-Two earnings call, it was hinted that GTA VI would release in either January, February, or March but a revision of the figures provided just a few days after they were published now seems to suggest that the game may launch in April 2025 or beyond. It’s all very speculative, of course, but it’s a bit of fun to pass the time. Much like the topic of today’s discussion.
Go on, watch it once more. Take a look at GTA VI in action below.
As reported by Dexerto, dedicated GTA VI fans have revisited footage from the major leak back in September of 2022, using it to map movements to controller inputs. Via this method, they were able to deduce that GTA VI will seemingly allow players to go prone for the first time in the franchise. While I can’t say I’ve always yearned to slither along the ground in a Grand Theft Auto entry, I can imagine this feature proving to be useful during stealth-based segments of the game.
Advert
To go prone, it’s believed you’ll need to hold down L3 but it goes without saying, this remains speculative. Plenty could have changed from the leak build to the final release so do take all of this with a very generous pinch of salt.
Other controls uncovered include R3 to switch the hand in which you’re holding your weapon and Triangle/Y to pick up items. Hopefully, in a few months time, we’ll get our first official look at GTA VI’s gameplay.
