I simply cannot see an eventuality where Grand Theft Auto VI doesn’t blow us all away.
It’s pretty much been radio silence from Rockstar Games since the game’s first trailer dropped in December of 2023.
Well, that’s aside from assurances that GTA VI is still on track for a fall 2025 release.

Why haven’t we seen anything in the way of gameplay though? I can only assume that Rockstar is taking all the time it can to cook up something very special indeed.
GTA VI has the potential to be the biggest game of all-time, so far anyway, and so the studio isn’t going to want to under-deliver.
While Rockstar is seemingly loath to unveil more about the game for now, that hasn’t stopped fans from unearthing new information.
Reddit user DeSnake 1 took to scouring the company’s job ads, discovering intel potentially pertaining to GTA VI’s “dynamic weather system”.

You can view that original trailer below.
“I've been digging through some Rockstar job listings and recent interviews, and I came across some interesting details that hint at a major weather overhaul in GTA VI,” DeSnake 1 wrote.
“A job listing from Rockstar Games dated last year mentioned they were looking for a ‘senior environmental systems programmer’ with experience in "dynamic weather simulation and real-time environmental interactions." This is a clear indicator that the weather system will be more than just cosmetic,” they continued.

The OP also alluded to a past dev interview, the source is not cited, where the interviewee referred to the importance of "immersive environmental storytelling, where weather impacts both the world and player decisions”.
While, of course, all information must be taken with a pinch of salt until proved otherwise, this feels like a logical assumption.
You need only look to Assassin’s Creed Shadows to see what a modern day dynamic weather system might consist of.
The weather and season has a major impact on the gameplay, altering where NPCs may reside, for example, or what cover the player may have.

It stands to reason that Rockstar might be aiming for a similar level of detail with its own weather system.
What might that look like in the context of GTA VI?
Well, Florida is known for its intense thunderstorms, occasionally accompanied by tornadoes.
Perhaps we’ll see such events present in Leonida.

Regardless of what’s in store, fans are already hyped.
“Imagine you’re in the middle of a robbery and flash flooding occurs and you can’t move because of the water,” Temporary_Use1097 remarked.
“Imagine being able to escape a police chase in a weather storm,” added Afyonlu-03.
Let’s just hope Rockstar finally drops a fresh reveal soon.
