This astonishing mod for Grand Theft Auto IV brings brand new life into the game, upgrading the visuals with extreme realism and lighting up Liberty City with eye-popping visual effects.
Modders seem to fall into two specific categories. There are the sort that corrupt even the most heart-rending games with disturbing creations, mixing universes with no respect to the laws of time and space. Examples comprise the one that turns the cat from Stray into CJ from San Andreas, Binley Mega Chippy in Elden Ring, and Homer and Bart Simpson travelling across Midgard to scatter... Marge's ashes. Then, there are the others that sink blood, sweat and tears into transforming games into the very best versions that they can be. Elevating older titles so that they look the way that we imagined them to back in the day, or coding new mechanics or features so that as many players can enjoy the game as is possible.
Check out the cream of the crop when it comes to ridiculous wins and fails from the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition in this compilation below!
Hayssam Keilany, the creator behind the latest iteration of the iCEnhancer mod, has been working on these improvements for Grand Theft Auto IV for at least seven years, with the stalwart support of interested fans of their vision for their favourite game. The mod is in early access at the moment, and as such, Keilany tweaks the visuals of the city so that it's just right before it becomes widely available. With volumetric fog, new foliage, multi-layered clouds, high-quality reflections and improved water effects, improved night shadows and more, the setting of Grand Theft Auto IV gets the spit and polish that it so deserves. Naturally, as a one person team, Keilany hasn't given us a specific release date, but it will be soon, so watch this space.
