Its predecessor, GTA V, is one of the most commercially successful video games of all time and no doubt, GTA VI will follow in its footsteps.
In October 2024, we learned that a fan-made GTA movie is also on the way and it’s inspired by the William Shakespeare play Hamlet.
After all, it is called Grand Theft Hamlet - a pretty on the nose nod.
The Grand Theft Hamlet movie has been created using GTA Online and follows the lives of Sam and Mark during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Until now, no release date for the film was made available but it's since been announced when it’ll be arriving in select cinemas as well as being streamed on platforms such as MUBI.
“With stunning visuals and unexpected moments of reflection, this engaging documentary examines how ancient cultural narratives can still resonate in new, virtual spaces, raising questions about art, isolation, and the digital world’s potential for storytelling,” reads the description of the movie.
As tweeted by DiscussingFilm, not only does Grand Theft Hamlet currently have an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 97%, but it will also be arriving in select cinemas on 17 January 2025.
