I think it's fair to say that God Of War Ragnarök is one of the most highly antipcated video game releases of 2022. Certainly, it's the most highly antipcated sequel of 2022.
The sequel to 2018's excellent God Of War was announced back in 2020 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 with a rough release window of 2021. The game was eventually bumped back to 2022, however, and an exact release date has yet to be confirmed.
The last few years have seen their share of hefty delays, of course. So you can't really blame the God Of War fans out there for assuming the worst and thinking that God Of War Ragnarök isn't going to release this year as planned.

Fortunately, the game's animation director Bruno Velazquez has a promising update for fans.
Yesterday, to celebrate the four-year anniversary (wow) of God Of War, the first game's director Cory Barlog took to Twitter to let fans know that... well, there's nothing new to show. At least, not yet.
Barlog stressed that the entire team at Santa Monica Studio is hard at work making the new game look and feel amazing, and that as soon as they have something to show, they'll show it.
Not quite what folk were hoping for on the four-year anniversary of God Of War, then. Fortunately, Velazquez moved to assure fans that the game is still very much on track for a 2022 release.
Exactly when it 2022 remains to be seen. Previous rumours pegged it as early as June, but given that's just over one month, I'm not sure I'd bet on that.
