A brand new RPG is on its way in 2025 that looks like a mix between Elden Ring and God of War. Plus, there’s a little bit of Stellar Blade in there too (for all the reasons you would expect).
Vindictus: Defying Fate is an upcoming action-adventure RPG from Nexon, the publishers and developers behind Maplestory, DNF Duel and Vindictus (the 2010 MMORPG that Vindictus: Defying Fate is a quasi-sequel to).
Although the game doesn’t currently have an exact release date, you will be able to get your hands on it when the alpha test for the game goes live on Steam this Summer.

This alpha test isn’t to be confused with the pre-alpha test the game had earlier in 2024, which allowed a few lucky few who had wishlisted the game to try out a very early build of Vindictus: Defying Fate.
A lot of footage of the pre-alpha test has found its way online, like for instance this playthrough from YouTuber rendermax.
Little warning before you click on that link though: potentially don’t watch it at work, or if you don’t feel like being judged by anyone in your general vicinity because, oh boy, does this game have some bloody jiggle physics.
Outside of the obvious coomer-bait, the actual gameplay of Vindictus: Defying Fate does look pretty solid.
Advert
It’s got that Elden Ring, soulslike look with all the ridiculous weapons and dodge rolls, but the actual designs of the beasts and even the armour sets look to be very Celtic-inspired.
If you’re curious to try it out for yourself when the alpha test is available, you can wishlist the game for yourself on Steam.
The devs have announced that the game will be coming to consoles sometime after the PC release of the game though, so don’t worry about feeling left out, non-PC crowd.
