With Ghost of Tsushima finally making its way to PC this month, its developers have issued a warning for millions of potential new players.
First released on PlayStation back in 2020, Ghost of Tsushima is an action-adventure title which saw players take on the role of Jin Sakai, a samurai on a quest to protect his island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan.

Finally after 4-years, the title is making its long-awaited debut on PC on 16 May but developers Sucker Punch Productions have issued a warning for any potential new players.

Reported by VideoGamesChronicle, Ghost of Tsushima will not require a PlayStation Network account to access the title’s single-player mode. However, players will need one if they want to play Ghost of Tsushima's multiplayer Legends mode or wish to access the new PlayStation PC overlay.
This news comes after Sony found itself in hot water last week after revealing Helldivers 2 players on Steam would soon need to connect to a PSN account. With this meaning that millions of players would lose access, the decision was soon overturned.
However, with Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima both needing access to a PSN account, this could mean this will become a common feature in the future. As you can imagine, this will not go down well with a lot of players.
To avoid the same backlash, it seems as though Sucker Punch were ready to assure its fans that Ghost of Tsushima’s single-player will be unaffected in a Tweet issued on 3 May.

We were lucky enough to review Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut back in 2021. We said: “[It] is undoubtedly the definitive way to experience Sucker Punch's open-world samurai adventure. Improved loading times, enhanced resolutions, smoother frame rates, and a slew of brand-new content make the 2020 game shine in new ways.”
