Ghost Of Tsushima 2 officially announced in epic first trailer

Ghost Of Tsushima 2 officially announced in epic first trailer

The long-awaited sequel is on the way

Nobody expected it but tonight's State of Play saw Sucker Punch announce a highly-anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima.

Titled Ghost of Yōtei, we know that it will feature a female protagonist also operating in Japan and it is set to be released some time in 2025.

Check out the trailer for Ghost of Yōtei below!

We see our brand-new protagonist, masked and skulking in the shadows but it is yet unconfirmed if she is at all related to the events of Ghost of Tsushima or Jin Sakai himself.

However, with this being the first time we have seen Ghost of Yōtei, we can expect a lot more information from Sucker Punch over the upcoming months.

As for Ghost of Tsushima, it was first released back in 2020 and became one of the highlights of the year.

It tells the story of samurai Jin Sakai as he sets out on a quest to protect the land of Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan.

The action-adventure title was praised for its epic combat, stunning visuals and engaging story so it is perhaps no wonder that a sequel has already been announced.

As mentioned, the trailer gives us a glimpse at the upcoming sequel and players went mad to see the well-known black and white cinematics found in the first game.

The snow-scaped lands are soon disturbed by our wolf-like protagonist with another character describing them as “hunting”.

Who are they hunting, I wonder?

Them apparently, as they are soon murdered by our masked assassin.

What follows is multiple scenes showing towering mountains, the beautiful scenery we grew to love in Ghost of Tsushima and of course, our brand-new protagonist garbed in samurai gear.

Accompanied by a wolf, she looks pretty badass but we will have to wait to see more.

With Ghost of Yōtei expected to launch some time in 2025, we can expect this title to be heading to the brand-new PlayStation 5 Pro on release.
