Surprise! Bethesda has just dropped some brand new, official Fallout content, and it’s added something that players have been begging for since the first Fallout game dropped back in 1997.
You know I don’t think anyone could have predicted that when Fallout 76 dropped back in 2018, it would still be receiving content updates seven years later.
And yet here we are, because the 20th Fallout 76 season, titled “Glow of the Ghoul”, just released, and it’s finally giving us the option to play as one of Fallout’s rotting, rad-resistant ghouls.

“Today’s Ghoul Within update gives all Wastelanders an opportunity to turn themselves into a Ghoul,” Bethesda revealed in a press release, “Unlocking a whole new way to experience Appalachia.”
“With new gameplay mechanics, and Ghoul-exclusive Perk cards. We hope you’re all ready to unleash your inner ghoul!”
So, what does the update add?
You can tackle a brand new questline titled "Leap of Faith" in a new section of the map, wherein you'll meet the new character Jaye who will assist you with your ghoul-ification.

Alongside a bunch of ghoul-specific abilities, the new update also adds a bunch of new perk cards.
“One of the immediate benefits of living life as a Ghoul is that you’ll have access to a new suite of Perk cards,” reads the update, “which you can use in addition to the normal human cards.”
“There are 28 Perks to choose from and 2 new Legendary perks for Ghouls.”
It’s not all sunshine and rainbows however, as the update notes specifically state that some factions (including the Brotherhood of Steel) will straight-up refuse to interact with you if you follow through with morphing into a ghoul.

Luckily, you’ll be offered the option to equip disguises that will fool these factions into cooperating with you.
The new update is already live on all platforms as of last night too, so get out there and enjoy the ghoul life ASAP.
