The upcoming, Fallout London, which many were excitedly looking forward to, has been delayed with no firm timeline for its release.
This is due to the large ‘new-gen’ update that Bethesda has created for Fallout 4, which brings the game up to date with other 4K RPGs and will be released 26 April.

Fallout London was initially meant to be released on 23 April, but the team has addressed the delay in a recent update saying that, due to the official Bethesda patch, they will have to rework large sections of the mod due to the new framework.

It was of little surprise that the much-talked-about ‘new-gen’ update reared its head last week given the gaming world is talking about little else than Fallout. With the premiere of the Amazon Studios TV show, which is receiving positive reviews across the board, it seems Bethesda wanted to take advantage of the momentum created.
This does throw a spanner in the works for the Fallout London modding crew who will now have to go through their ‘game-sized’ mod to ensure everything still works.
This tends to be a big issue with mods as the base game gets reworked by the developers potentially breaking large sections of the mod. It’s not something unfamiliar to Bethesda modders who have had to work around Skyrim’s many updates, but it does make things harder.
The update will likely have an effect on many mods, but lots of fans will be saddened to hear the news as this was the closest we were going to get to a ‘new’ Fallout game for some time.

Frustratingly, the mod was due to release on St George’s Day because that’s the day your character would leave the vault in the mod. Despite this disappointment, Fallout London will still arrive soon, but how soon is anyone’s guess?
