After Fallout: London was indefinitely delayed earlier this year, the future seemed bleak for the ambitious mod. However, a new launch date spells good news for eager fans who are ready for some more post-apocalyptic action.
First of all, for those who didn’t know, Fallout: London is an upcoming total conversion mod of Bethesda’s Fallout 4 title. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic version of London, this will be the first time the long-running series has taken place outside of the U.S.

Although it is an unofficial release, the game which is set to take place in 2237 has been in development since 2019 and will have a main map equivalent to the size of Fallout 4’s.

With it initially planning to be released on 23 April 2024, its development team revealed Fallout London would be “indefinitely delayed” following the release of Bethesda’s next-gen update for Fallout 4.
This official update would have caused quite a few issues for Fallout: London’s mods and so the development team needed time to make some changes and fixes.
Since then, fans have been waiting for an update on the expansion and yesterday it finally arrived. Posted to the official Discord page for Fallout: London, an announcement read: “We have a new date. Stay safe and remember. Mind the gap”.
Although they did not include an updated release date, it is exciting to see that Fallout: London will soon be playable after a five year wait.

With Fallout 5 not expected to be released anytime soon with Bethesda seemingly hard at work on developing The Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout: London will be a perfect way to bridge the gap between official releases.
Until then, brave Fallout 4 players can check out this free download which adds some brutal new features and challenges to the base game.
