It has now been six years since Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls VI to the world at E3 2018 and we still don’t know when it will be released.
When The Elder Scrolls VI was announced at E3 all those years ago, many of us assumed it would be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Moreover, it would have been released long before now, but 72 months later, we are still kept waiting.

Coming from the lineage that brought us the likes of Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim, there is every reason to be excited for The Elder Scrolls VI because we know at some point that it will arrive but the delay in its arrival can't help but make us feel just a little deflated at this point.

We can only guess when the big release will come but there’s every chance that Bethesda might decide to skip PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and launch The Elder Scrolls VI on next-gen consoles. Understandably, fans of the series have grown weary of its launch and are roasting the sixth anniversary of its trailer reveal.
“Happy sixth anniversary of the game announcement,” said Reddit user zlazo. “To all who celebrate, happy anniversary. We'll check back in two years from now.”

“It wouldn’t be The Elder Scrolls VI without at least a six-year wait after the announcement trailer,” responded piconese. “Jokes on you, we’re gonna wait six decades,” replied RuinVIXI.
“Reminder that Skyrim was already six and a half years old at the time of this announcement,” buhurizadefanboyu, reminded the fellow members on the thread. “And we all thought that's way too long. Good times,” said Not_a_creativeuser.
However, JewDonn summed up the wait for The Elder Scrolls VI better than anyone else by simply saying “No way. It’s already been six years? Damn.” Let’s just hope we’re not waiting another six years from now.
