Discord's Activities, a new feature that lets users play games and watch YouTube together, has rolled out to a raucous reception from fans.
"If you’ve ever stayed up way too late playing games and watching videos with people in Voice…well, you’re probably about to again," said Discord in its help section covering these new Activities. Keeping it real. This new feature is "a way to enjoy shared experiences with friends, such as games and media, on Discord itself" without the faff of programs or extensions to share that vintage chaotic neutral Vine compilation with your not-so-nearest and definitely dearest.

At the moment, there are two Activities available for regular Discord users: Watch Together and Putt Party. Watch Together lets you watch the same YouTube video at the same time and Putt Party is a mini golf minigame. Discord Nitro subscribers possess access to these two and the games Poker Night, Sketch Heads, Chess in the Park, Land-io, Blazing 8s, Letter League and Checkers in the Park. Crucially though, the other users in your server don't need an active Nitro subscription to join into any of these aforementioned Activities. Nice.
In order to start an Activity, enter a Voice channel and then select the Activity Launcher button on the right, above where your username is, which is denoted with a rocket ship. To join an ongoing Activity, hover over their Voice channel and then pick the "Join Activity" option. Different Activities are able to be hosted in the same Voice channel and some Activities have an unlimited number of participants. Go forth, and prosper.
