A developer who worked on Cyberpunk 2077 has explained why fans shouldn't expect a new game plus mode for the game.
"It's really important that when you have components in a game, they all work together and they all work well and they all make sense ... Cyberpunk is very specific when it comes to its construction. It's incredibly difficult to figure out a way where New Game Plus could be done in a setting, in a way that doesn't completely break the way the game is constructed. By design, it would require major changes to the construction of the game to really do it well," Cyberpunk 2077 lead quest designer Pawel Sasko said in an interview with DualShockers.
ICYMI: Gears of War: E-Day was announced last night.
Basically, what it boils down to is that the title provides a wide range of choices that are often dependant on your background and your stats. The developer believes that it's better to have players create a new character and find out what they can do within the game than simply use the same character over and over, and it's also much better to do it that way for difficulty balancing reasons.

Cyberpunk 2077 first launched in 2020, and it wasn't exactly received very well. The game launched with a large amount of bugs, and some severe performance problems that were only fixed over the years thanks to a series of patches. Last year, just before the launch of the first and only expansion for the game, developer CD Projekt Red released Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, a patch that added new mechanics to the game such as actual police chases, and a series of other fixes to the game. Afterwards, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty was released, an expansion to the title that featured Idris Elba as a new character, and was extremely warmly received by fans and critics alike.
