We may be several weeks into the new year, but Chinese New Year is just days away. This year, it falls on Sunday 22 January, and the new year will officially see us enter the Year of the Rabbit. To celebrate, Ubisoft are releasing an aptly themed freebie.
Ubisoft hasn't had the greatest time lately. The publisher has reportedly cancelled three unannounced games in a series of cost-cutting measures after a disappointing fiscal year. It’s thought that Ubisoft are looking to cut around $215 million in spending which is no easy undertaking and could see the company lessen its headcount. Several upcoming titles have been delayed including Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Skull and Bones but enough doom and gloom for now. Let’s get back to that freebie.
Take a look at Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora below.
If you’re a PC gamer, you can now grab Rayman Raving Rabbids for free through the Ubisoft Connect store. This offer only lasts until 23 January so if you do fancy getting your hands on this title, do so this weekend. Released back in 2006, Rayman Raving Rabbids is essentially made up of a bunch of minigames. It’s not exactly the most life-changing game, but it could offer a few hours of fun.

Rayman Raving Rabbids has a score of 58 over on Metacritic. PC Zone UK wrote, “It’s decent, short-lived fun,” while GameSpot added, “The PC version of Raving Rabbids is still a goofy collection of minigames.” Not the most overwhelming praise but at the end of the day, it is free. They do say you shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
On the hunt for another freebie? Vampire Survivors was a 2022 favourite for many of us here on the GAMINGbible team and it was recently revealed that a mobile port of the game will be released for free. That’s definitely worth checking out.
