One of the most popular real-time strategy games on Steam just went free to download and play, but you don’t have long if you want to jump in and give it a go.
Company of Heroes 3 is a 2023 strategy title from developers Relic Entertainment, the minds behind titles such as Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III and Age of Empires IV.
The title was a critical success, with the PC version earning itself a “Generally Favorable” 81/100 score on Metacritic. NME's Jake Tucker even stated that Company of Heroes 3 "is probably the best RTS of the last decade" in his 5-star review.

It even has a relatively healthy player count too, averaging out at about 4,000 concurrent players every day on Steam.
However, if none of this sways you into giving it a go, perhaps this will: Company of Heroes 3 is currently free to play on Steam until March 10th.
So what prompted this generous offer?
It probably has something to do with its new 2.0 Anniversary Update, which added a bunch of new content to the game “including four new Battlegroups in the new Fire & Steel DLC, a return of some fan-favorite maps from CoH1 and 2, Campaign improvements, multiplayer balance changes, and more.”

Plus, the game is currently 50% off on Steam too, from £47.99 down to £23.99 until March 13th. Basically they want you to play the game, love it, and then get tempted into buying the full game at half price once the free trial runs out on Monday.
However, from what I can tell, that is more than enough time to complete the single-player campaign. There are two main story modes in the base game; the African campaign and the Italian campaign.
The African campaign apparently takes around five hours to complete, whereas the Italian campaign takes about 20 hours.
If you download Company of Heroes 3 right this second and really get stuck in over the next three days, it sounds like you’ll have more than enough time to complete both.
