Last night, after the Xbox Games Showcase ended, we got an extended look at the latest Call of Duty from Raven Software and Treyarch.
During the separate showcase, we got to see behind the scenes and heard some new details of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 including a return of the series’ prestige mode.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is reintroducing several legacy features from the series.
Hearing from people across both studios, the short video brought the fire, with several notable inclusions for this latest release.

Prestige mode is back and better than ever. If you aren’t aware, prestige was the ranking your multiplayer character would go through after hitting the level cap.
It hasn’t been seen in Call of Duty for some time but now it has returned. Essentially, you’ll hit the level 55 cap and can choose to enter prestige level one. This will reset all your gear and you’ll have to unlock everything again.
However, you’ll have 10 prestige levels to grind through before hitting ‘master prestige’ and then playing through another 1,000 levels in search of ‘classified features’.
Alongside this, theater mode is back, giving you the chance to relive your best matches and your highlight moments. While it was shown briefly last night - we saw footage being wound back - there aren’t too many details regarding what you can do with the video captured.

It will open up the chance for highlight reels and we wouldn’t be surprised if you could somehow show off your favourite moments on a profile page for all to see.
Lastly, it’s worth mentioning the all-new omni-direction and intelligent movement features. These features will have your character auto-jumping and sprinting when moving at a pace, but there’s more.
A nice little feature is the auto-lean around corners. If you’re approaching a corner slowly and while aiming down sights, your character will automatically lean out and around to get the shot. It seems the developers and Activision really want Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to stand out.
