The latest trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty, a short teaser embedded in a new website, has revealed the setting for the shooter, and it’s one we all expected.
Seeing as there are few secrets in video games, the new setting for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was rumoured some time ago, but now we finally have it confirmed.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was revealed in a recent teaser trailer.
According to some text that appears in the trailer, we can expect Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to be set during the Gulf War.

We see not only the word ‘Gulf’ in the text, but below it the date of 11/91. The Gulf war started 2 August 1990, so it makes a lot of sense. Perhaps the date that we see sets us up for events that happened nearer the end of the war, or perhaps even after it.
This puts us in an interesting position as players due to the time period. Call of Duty has taken us to various wars over the franchise's history, but the 1990s will be new for us, giving players new weapons to use and a new country to inhabit.
Of course, the Gulf war was a dirty war for many and its background could mean our protagonists experience a great deal of situations. We won’t know more until the full reveal in June courtesy of Microsoft and Activision, but we can speculate for now.
The Gulf war (August 1990 - February 1991) was incredibly short compared to other conflicts and it has since been steeped in conspiracy and outright speculation that the war was fought for oil and wealth, more than anything else.

This could see the soldiers taking part in various types of missions from protecting civilians to fighting in and around oil fields.
