According to a well-known leaker on Twitter, the next Call of Duty game we’ll see in 2025 (following the release of 2024's Call of Duty: Black Ops 6) is going to be… more Black Ops.
No, you read that correctly. It sort of sounds like we’ll be getting something more akin to Black Ops 7 rather than something like Modern Warfare 4.
This leak comes courtesy of a user going by the name of Fumo Leaks on Twitter. Apparently, their source is someone who managed to worm their way into a Call of Duty focus testing group, who naturally decided to take pictures of everything that the focus testing group had displayed on their slideshow.

If the leaks are to be believed, the next Call of Duty game will feature the return of an old protagonist: Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s David Mason. Also, apparently the game will be set in 2035, which would mean that David should be around 56 years old by this point.
Take a look at this year's instalment.
The leak also had a few details regarding the gameplay, such as the return of the omni-movement system and the ability to use other people as human shields (although it’s not clear whether said human shield would be useable in just the campaign or not).

Several classic maps and game modes will also make a return in the multiplayer too, such as Face-Off, Uplink and Gunfight.
Zombies will make a return, featuring a “classic” mode that is supposed to be akin to the ones in older Black Ops titles. Perhaps even more excitingly, they also stated that an eight player mode will be available too.
So, how likely is it that these leaks are real? As with everything leak-related, you should err on the side of caution. However, Fumo Leaks has been right about stuff in the past. Keep an eye out for any future announcements from Activision, post-Black Ops 6.
