It seems like a lot of games nowadays get leaked by employers and freelancers noting a game on their portfolio or LinkedIn page only for a fan or industry insider to spot it.
That's exactly what has happened here. The profile of a 'senior technical & production director' was updated after they briefly worked for Gearbox Software. It was revealed here that the director had supervised on several projects, including Borderlands 4 UE4 and Tiny Tina's Wonderland 2 UE4.
The Borderlands franchise is beloved by many and a new entry would be welcomed by fans.
We can infer from this portfolio update that the staffer had worked on these two unannounced titles, though they only worked with Gearbox Software for around three months. Both Borderlands and its spin-off Tiny Tina's Wonderlands are not only very popular games with fans, but established franchises that are likely to see further releases. New entries feel like a surefire guarantee, but as nothing has come directly from Gearbox Software or CEO Randy Pitchford, do take this with a pinch of salt.

In fact, the last we heard from Randy Pitchford on the franchise, he commented that Gearbox is not "assisting or co-developing another Borderlands game or a new spin-off game." He went on to explain that this was a response to rumours that the company was not leading development on a Borderlands game and had handed the keys to someone else.
He went on to tweet that Gearbox Software were looking for "anyone out there [who] has skills-to-pay-bills and wants to get in on some Borderlands action, we're working on the big one." Combining this tweet with that portfolio update, things are looking good for a new Borderlands title.
For now, we'll have to wait on an official announcement, but don't forget, we still have the Borderlands film to enjoy, though development hasn't been easy.
