Assassin's Creed-Style Game Set In Medieval China Looks Really Good

Where Winds Meet is an upcoming open-world RPG set in medieval China.

Whether you’re in the throngs of Gamescom or enjoying the event’s announcements from the comfort of your bedroom, this sure has been a fun week for gaming news. Sony revealed their upcoming DualSense Edge controller and new soulslike Lies of P stole the show at Opening Night Live. It wasn’t the only standout hit though as fans were equally blown away with Where Winds Meet.

Check out the world premiere trailer of Where Winds Meet below.

Developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase, Where Winds Meet is an upcoming RPG that’s giving off some serious Assassin’s Creed vibes. The game is set in medieval China and features martial arts-infused gameplay.

The trailer started out as most world premieres do, with a glossy cinematic scene. As Dune: Awakening has learnt, holding back on gameplay can leave fans feeling pretty sceptical. Lucky for us, Where Winds Meet switched over to gameplay halfway through the trailer and it looks very promising indeed. In addition to the martial arts melee, we see the protagonist wielding both a bow and sword plus there’s some nice parkour going on.

As reported by PC Gamer, Where Winds Meet allows you to wander away from the main story. You can even take the time to become a merchant or a doctor, so it sure does sound like it’s set to be an open-world game. IGN claims there’s also an online element. The bad news is that Where Winds Meet is PC only but for my PC folk, the beta should launch later this year.
