One of the best things about Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed games is how they’ve varied between entries, with everybody having their preferred title that suits what kind of gameplay or lore they want. Many would choose Assassin’s Creed II for it’s story, some may choose Assassin’s Creed Odyssey if they want more RPG and hardly any stealth, and I’d personally choose Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for it’s characters and sea shanties.
Assassin’s Creed Origins though, was the middle-ground for fans wanting more assassinations, and fans who wanted something different. It was the first game in the series to introduce RPG elements, and did a phenomenal job of it, seamlessly integrating it with the stealth gameplay the series is known for.
Even better, the game looks absolutely stunning even now, with the golden sands and shimmering waters of Ancient Egypt being the perfect backdrop for discovering the origins of the assassins and their creed.

Now Assassin’s Creed Origins is available on modern platforms, even receiving some optimisation for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC to improve framerates but what if I told you there was an entirely new way to experience it?
A modder called indianonimous has put together a mod simply titled AC ORIGINS graphics mod that completely overhauls the game’s visuals, and it looks incredible. Oddly enough it has links to an entirely different series as well, Grand Theft Auto, as the mod is a port of the GTA 5 Redux mod, which overhauled Grand Theft Auto V’s graphics.
The mod introduces tonnes of improvements to Assassin’s Creed Origins graphics, drastically improving the game’s lighting, fidelity, backdrops, etc and it looks magnificent. The ancient pyramids never looked better, and looking out across the vast desert and the glimmering sea can be jaw-dropping. Textures have been improved too, especially on character models and their clothing.

The work that’s been done to make an already perfect-looking game look even better is outstanding. Hopefully, Ubisoft revisit the Egyptian setting of Assassin’s Creed Origins in the future, so we can see just how beautiful it could look and feel on the current-gen hardware.
