Finally, the release of the next entry in Ubisoft’s ever-popular Assassin's Creed series is nearly upon us.
In fact, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is being released this week. In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, we play as a young Basim Ibn Ishaq, whom we first met in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set 12 years prior to the events of Valhalla during the Golden Age of Baghdad, Iraq, in the year 861.

In recent years, arguably since the release of Assassin’s Creed Origins in 2017, the Ubisoft series has evolved into something more of an RPG with a massive open world that can get a little overwhelming. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the ‘RPG-era’ entries, but I miss the days of the series having more of an emphasis on stealth. Thankfully, that’s what we’re going to get with Assassin’s Creed Mirage which looks to be heavily inspired by the original game that was released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2007.

So with Assassin’s Creed Mirage arriving this week, it might be a good time to get ahead of the game and download the latest entry in time for its launch day, right? Well, you’re in luck, because you can start pre-downloading digital orders of Assassin’s Creed Mirage now.
As shared in a Reddit post by user Arozeran, the pre-download is available now on Ubisoft’s own launcher Uplay and judging by the comments in the thread, the pre-download has been available on Xbox for days. So it will be safe to assume that it’s the same for PlayStation, especially when its launch is only two days away (at the time of writing).
In related news, free downloads can be claimed for Assassin’s Creed Mirage - and its open world is so accurate that it apparently made a historian cry.
