Last year, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Basim finally got his solo moment in the spotlight with the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage but it’s Connor Kenway that fans are hoping to see return next.
It was way back in 2012’s Assassin’s Creed III that Kenway led the franchise, but fans are in agreement that there’s plenty more story to tell. “I’ve always really wanted to see a parallel story game set after AC3 and based on the novel Forsaken. Basically, ‘present day’ Connor has a story set after the Revolutionary War during Washington’s presidency, but we also get missions set during Haytham’s youth where he discovers what happened to his father, rescues his sister from slavery and kills Grandmaster Reginald Birch, a character who is integral to the plots of AC3 and Rogue but barely features in the games at all,” suggested Reddit user Klutzy-Pressure-121, and it’s a suggestion thats piqued my interest.
Take a look at the teaser trailer for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Codename Red below.
“An older Connor with an Arno right after AC Unity with him looking for revenge wanting to kill Shay, who would be the Grand Master of the Templars in the US at this point. Just think about it,” wrote Mr_Blue_Sky_17 while OliviaElevenDunham added, “Connor does deserve a sequel. He gets a lot of flack because a lot of people find him uninteresting, but I still like him.” It’s true that Connor did get a bit of flack back when Assassin’s Creed III landed, but you can hardly blame him for not being the most jovial and charismatic protagonist considering everything he went through.

Connor isn’t the only character that fans are hoping to see make a big solo return. There are also calls for Assassin’s Creed Unity’s Arno and Assassin’s Creed Origins’ Bayek to return. It would also be interesting to see Assassin’s Creed Rogue’s Shay back in action once more.
What we do know is that the upcoming Codename Red will introduce us to several new characters. Set in Feudal Japan, Codename Red will supposedly feature a male samurai and a female shinobi, with the samurai possibly based on the real life figure of Yasuke. It’ll certainly be interesting to play via dual protagonists.
