Star Wars fans will want to jump on this deal for an intricate LEGO attack cruiser.

With LEGO focusing on their adult fans more and more, massive, highly-detailed sets have become the norm in its roster, especially where its Star Wars range is concerned. If you’re not quite ready to spring for the £735 Millennium Falcon, there’s another iconic ship at a lower price point that will keep even the most experienced builders out of trouble for hours and hours this Christmas.

Right now you can pick it up at a huge discount, too: the LEGO Star Wars Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser for £373, down from £560 at Argos. That price will net you 5,374 pieces’ worth of LEGO, and the final build is a sight to behold.

Featuring the Republic-era Venator warship, perhaps most famous for waging battle during the opening of Revenge of the Sith, this build’s detailed exterior is matched by an interior featuring a command bridge, hangar, and a model of a Republic Gunship.

It comes with two rare mini figures in Captain Rex and Admiral Yularen, stars of the Clone Wars TV show, and the final build sits on top of a built-in display stand complete with an information plaque and a Clone Wars 20th-anniversary brick.

With 4.8 out of 5 stars averaged from 78 reviews, it’s fair to say Argos customers have been blown away by this one.

“It's a great addition to my collection,” said one five-star review. “It was a lot of fun to build and now seeing it in all its glory and knowing it's mine makes me really happy.”

“Quite a pleasant build, thought it would have been a struggle due to the amount of pieces,” said another five-star review. “Easy to follow instructions, sturdy design.”

Another added: “Great product at a very reasonable price. Much more affordable than other stores. Very quick delivery and easy purchasing process. Website was quick and in store collection was very efficient, only waited for a few seconds.”

A small minority have been underwhelmed, however. “It’s okay and that sums it up really,” said one review. “Some great bits in the build but also some very bad bits that could have been done better.”

Another said: "This is an amazing build and extremely well detailed, my only real critique is that due to trying to keep the weight down on the build it has sacrificed material from some areas that need the extra rigidity."

If you’d rather build a ship from a galaxy a little closer to home, this rendition of The Endurance for £229.99 on the LEGO store is a fantastic pick. Other top vehicles to consider include the LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean at Smyths for £169.99.

But for a whopping 5,374 pieces at only £373, the LEGO Star Wars Venator is maybe the best-value set you’ll find this Christmas.
