Hogwarts Legacy in 2023 offered the biggest and boldest rendition of Harry Potter’s alma mater, with players taking their own role in the magical castle’s vaunted history. One omission that raised some eyebrows was Quidditch, the wizarding sport known for its high-speed Golden Snitch and its brutal Bludgers capable of knocking seven shades of magic out of Hogwarts students.
Since then a brand-new Quidditch game has launched, and right now you can pick up Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions - Deluxe Edition for just £24.99 at Very for Nintendo Switch, down from its full price of £69.99. A spiritual successor to 2003’s Quidditch World Cup, this is a fully-realised Quidditch game complete with online play, a league system, and some thoughtful tinkering to the sport’s rules.

Packed with details from the Harry Potter series, from locales to characters, this Quidditch game gives you the full gamut of scenarios to compete in. From a pick-up game at the Weasley’s house to your debut as a full international, there are hours upon hours of games to test your mettle in either alone or with up to two friends online.
The game-winning quality of the Snitch has been muted somewhat, meaning it’s not so much an instant-win condition as it is in the films and books, making for more competitive action and tighter scorelines.
Only three reviewers have left their thoughts on the game at Very so far, but it's telling that it's racked up an average of 4.7 stars out of 5. "I know my grandson is going to love it. I've been told by an acquaintance that a very exciting and skilfull game," said one reviewer.
Another called it "fantastic", adding: "Very well packaged and a good game and value for the money." Over at Amazon, a reviewer of the Xbox version of the game (which is currently reduced to £18.95) said: "Great game and good value for money."

However, one Very reviewer warned: "Please note, it is a code rather than game cartridge." An Amazon reviewer of the Nintendo game echoed this, saying: "This game can only be played online."
If you wanted to dive into the broader world of witchcraft and wizardry, your best bet is to try Hogwarts Legacy - which currently costs £64.99 from PlayStation. If you wanted to try a sport that didn't have quite so many magical elements, you can't go far wrong with Mario Strikers: Battle League Football, which costs £49.99 for Nintendo Switch.
But for Harry Potter fans who want to get as close to playing Quidditch as possible, this Nintendo Switch deal is well worth a look - particularly while it's on such a massive discount.
