The release date for GTA VI has been the subject of speculation for years, but more so since the first trailer for the game appeared at the end of 2023.
Recent rumours have swirled around the possibility that the game would slip into 2026 due to the size and scope of the game and the polish it would need for Rockstar Games to get it out the door.
One day there will be a second trailer for GTA 6, but today is not that day
I’d say you can rest assured that GTA VI won’t slip into next year, as the money and talent at the developer should see it safely over the finish line.

However, if you need more reassurance, then you can look to Georgio Jankowski, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Rockstar Games.
They recently updated their LinkedIn profile with a post that said, “With 2025 kicking off and shaping up to be one of the most exciting years ahead here at Rockstar, it couldn't be a better time to have a look at our open positions and consider applying.”
What could be more exciting than GTA VI finally coming out and sweeping millions of fans along for a new adventure?
A sceptic could say, “well, they might just mean as development continues.”

To which I say, get out of here with your negativity, let’s have a positive outlook and manifest the release.
Of course, we need to have a second trailer before that, and this has also been a point of speculation for fans of the series.
If you want more to go on, just look back to a recent financial call where Take-Two, Rockstar Games' parent company, stated on 2025, “the number is tracking a little above $7 billion for net bookings for the year.”
They can’t make $7 billion without GTA VI, now, can they? So, let’s just focus on looking forward to playing.
