The next entry in the ever-popular Call of Duty franchise is nearly upon us and so too is its latest version of its free-to-play battle royale offering, Warzone.
This week, Activision hosted the CoD Next event across its social media channels. This event showcased what’s coming to this year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s multiplayer including the traditional modes, as well as Warzone and Zombies.

Obviously, with events such as these, it’s important not to get carried away from overly excited members of the marketing team and social influencers who are paid to be at the events. Regardless, it’s difficult not to get at least a little bit hyped if you’re a fan of the Call of Duty series.

During the event, the third iteration of Warzone was dubbed as the “best battle royale ever”. At this stage seems a little far-fetched considering that this game isn't even out yet. Sure, it might very well be the best battle royale ever, but until we all get to play it for ourselves, we’ll truly never know.

Call of Duty Warzone 3.0 will feature the new Las Almas map, but that is not all, because in 2024 we’ll see the return of Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island. Both of the returning maps are expected to be added to Warzone sometime after season one comes to an end with Fortune’s Keep being the first to arrive.
Fortune’s Keep was first introduced in June 2022 for season four of Call of Duty: Vanguard, but it was only around for a mere four months. As for Rebirth Island, it made its initial debut in December 2020 in season one of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be released on 10 November 2023 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The new iteration of Warzone is also expected to share the same release date.
