Following the raucous reception to the return of Superman in the mid-credits scene in Black Adam, director Zack Snyder has sent his congratulations to actor Henry Cavill, calling him the "greatest Superman ever."
Sorry to everyone who was trying to steer clear of Black Adam spoilers. To be fair, you've had six days to see the film. Six. Whole. Days. What? You were at work? You had childcare responsibilities? You were waiting to see the film with your friends at an agreed time and date that works for all of your varied schedules? I've never heard excuses as pathetic as these.

Really, none of us had any chance against Black Adam spoilers, seeing that Dwayne Johnson himself let the cat from Krypton out of the bag on the red carpet. That's an achievement. Still, it's been a warm welcome for Henry Cavill into the DCU and now Zack Snyder has extended his compliments to the actor in a personal video message in the latest episode of Josh Horowitz's Happy, Sad, Confused podcast.
"I can't wait to work with you in the future, and you are, of course, the greatest Superman ever," said Snyder. Naturally, there have been a trickle of naysayers claiming that the greatest portrayal is Christopher Reeves, however, we're fortunate enough to have a fair few actors lend their talent to the iconic superhero.

“The character means so much to me," said Cavill in the podcast episode. "I never gave up hope. It’s amazing to be here now talking about it again. There is such a bright future ahead for the character. I’m so excited to tell a story with an enormously joyful Superman."
