A fan-made project imagines if P.T. became a full game, and is the Silent Hill experience we’ve all been waiting for.
I’m still sad that P.T. never got to become the masterclass in horror it was planned to be. In a now-unavailable PlayStation demo created by Hideo Kojima, the player wanders through a never-ending hallway loop, while being followed by a horrifying entity that’s glued to the back of your character.
Check out the trailer for the Silent Hill 2 remake.

It was supposed to be an elaborate teaser for a game called Silent Hills, which was unfortunately scrapped when Kojima and Konami parted ways.
Finally, Silent Hill fans had some luck when Konami announced several projects were in the works, including a remake of Silent Hill 2 which I couldn’t be more excited for, as long as it’s good.
Now though, a fan-made game called Chaperone is on the way, and it looks like what P.T. was always meant to be. The horror game was made in Unreal Engine 4, and will be released on Steam later this month. Players will take control of a first-person perspective and walk through an eerily dark house, full of interactive objects as well as several unknown dangers.
Every corridor and room of the house feels surprisingly small and closed-in, adding further tension as you slowly creep around a corner, not knowing what you might find on the other side. As you explore you’ll likely see things out of the corner of your eye, or hear noises that just don’t sound right, as you try to find a way out.

From the looks of things, the developers did a really good job with the game’s atmosphere, and the inspiration from P.T. and Silent Hill shines throughout the gameplay.
This is definitely one to add to your Steam wishlist and keep an eye on, especially if you’re patiently waiting for the next official entry in the Silent Hill series.
