It’s been a minute since the last new Uncharted game was released. Yes, we got the Legacy of Thieves collection last year, but that didn’t take Nathan Drake on any new adventures.
In fact, there’s been serious reason for concern amongst the Uncharted fandom, as the co-president of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, recently hinted that the studio may be done with the series altogether. He said: “For us, Uncharted was insanely successful. Uncharted 4 was one of our best-selling games, and we're able to put our final brushstroke on that story and say that we're done. We're moving on.”
Take a look at our interview with Uncharted movie stars Tati Gabrielle and Sophia Ali below.
So, is Uncharted over for good? Surely, the franchise can’t end with a mediocre movie adaptation, right? Well, a new announcement has confirmed that it’s not been forgotten completely, but I highly doubt this is the direction for the series that anyone was expecting.

Say hello to Uncharted: The Enigma of Penitence. What incredible game could be behind such an intriguing title? The answer is: none at all. Uncharted’s latest venture is actually a new “multidimensional” rollercoaster at PortAventura World in Catalonia, Spain. A short teaser trailer has been revealed which gives some idea of what the final ride will look like, although it also features a group of people almost plummeting to the ground from a cliff at the start, so something tells me that it might not be an entirely accurate depiction. Still, you can take a look below.
While I can’t imagine that The Enigma of Penitence will be home to any deep, never-before-seen Uncharted lore, it’ll probably still be a fun time for fans. PortAventura World visitors will be able to experience the ride very soon, as it opens on 17 June.
