Twitch can be a chaotic place, a tale of two halves so to speak. The site is no stranger to controversy and just the other day, users called the platform out for its sexist double standards. That being said, plenty of good has come out of the site too.
Recently, the generous Twitch community raised $60,000 for one particular streamer after he shared his cancer story, and that’s the kind of joyous news we all need a good dose of from time to time. A new initiative launched on Twitch plans to bank on that generosity as streamers can now raise money to help combat childhood cancer by catching Pokemon, of all things.
Take a look at some of the best wins and fails players have experienced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus below.
Launched by the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, ‘Catch A Million’ runs from 24 April to 1 May 2022. The aim is for Twitch streamers to work together to catch one million Pokemon, raising $100,000 in the process for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation which aims to tackle childhood cancer by funding various cancer research projects around the world.

If you’re interested in joining in, any and all Pokemon games count towards the one million target. You simply need to have signed up on the ‘Catch A Million’ site and be live on stream when you catch the Pokemon. If you’re in it for the long haul, there’s a handy Twitch-integrated app to keep track of all of your captures during the stream.
The ‘Catch A Million’ website will track how the project is progressing, including who has caught the most Pokemon. So whether it’s Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon Unite or Pokemon Sword and Shield, there’s no better time than now to open up your console and catch em’ all.
