Warrior Nun fans, rejoice, because Ava and co are coming back!
When Netflix axed the series back in December 2022, fans all but rioted across social media as they demanded the answer to the only question that mattered – why? Why was a show, which quickly gained a loyal following, cancelled when it had everything going for it?

Online petitions with 120,000 plus signatures started to do the internet rounds in an effort to save the Netflix series, as too did #SaveWarriorNun. Livid fans refused to rest until they were heard. And, in a twist of events that brings many of us here at GAMINGbible joy, their persistence has paid off.

Dean English, the executive producer of the show, announced the news on Warrior Nun Saved, a new website that perfectly encapsulates just how amazing the news is. English said “I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures” before adding “It’s because of you and your incredible energy that we keep pushing forward to make these stories. You guys really make it all worthwhile. So, thank you so much for your continued support.”
This comes after the show’s creator, Simon Barry, announced the show was saved in June, though didn’t go into any details at the time. Since then, the mystery surrounding just how Warrior Nun will return has been driving fans around the bend, mainly because of their unwillingness to chill.
Beyond the fact that three films are coming in the future, little else is known, with the crucial detail of whether Alba Baptista will return as Ava still unanswered. Obviously, due to the WGA (Writers Guild of America) and SAG (Screen Actors Guild) strikes, it’s unlikely we’ll learn any actor specific details soon.
Alongside the news, English hinted that Warrior Nun is a “universe being launched” and that “there will be more details in the future”.

I, for one, am excited to see what this universe will include, and which characters might get their own spin-offs.
