Despite the fact that The Boys season 4 doesn't premiere until next month, a teaser for Season 5 of the popular Amazon Prime show has been released already.
As revealed at the new Amazon Upfronts presentation, The Boys Season 5 is already confirmed to be releasing, despite the fact that Season 4 doesn't premiere until June 13, and has only just received its first full trailer earlier this month.
"The Boys could be the best job I'll ever have. What other show allows me to write about politics, capitalism, family, and exploding genitalia, though not in that order. The case and crew are deeply grateful to Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM studios for the opportunity to tell this story for another season. My only problem is that since this year promises to be free of any conflict or misinformation, we're not sure what to write about," showrunner Eric Kripke said in a statement.
The teaser for Season 5, which you can watch above, simply shows Karen Fukuhara's character, Kimiko Miyashiro, carving "Season 5" into a desk. There's little to gleam from the announcement (though it's fairly likely that this means Fukuhara will be back in some form in the season), but it's enough to get fans excited for what's to come in the future.
Advert
While an official release date hasn't been announced yet, it's likely that Season 5 of The Boys won't arrive until 2026. With the exception of the second season of the show, every season following the first has taken two years to arrive. Luckily, spin-off shows such as Gen V and The Boys: Diabolical have filled the gaps between seasons, meaning that fans are still able to experience the world of the show, albeit without several of the major players.
