Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming years, including a new trilogy that’ll hopefully be more thought out than the last one…
Despite some creative differences and missed opportunities Disney’s Star Wars sequel trilogy was successful enough to keep the franchise alive and well, and there are more films on the way.
After Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker it was hinted that Rey would be starting her own new order of Jedi, which seems to be going ahead
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy recently shared an update on the future of Star Wars with Deadline, including a word on the next trilogy as well as standalone projects.

Speaking on filmmaker Simon Kinberg's trilogy, Kennedy said "he’s literally going to script as we speak. We’ll see something probably around June. We’re really excited about where that’s headed. This is the next iteration, the new saga that moves us into the future."
Alternatively, Shawn Levy’s upcoming film “is a standalone Star Wars story” taking place some time after Rise Of Skywalker.
Kennedy closed her remarks by saying the new films are about “pretty much new characters. We may bring some of the characters back from the sequel saga, but pretty much new characters.”
Also in the works is The Mandalorian And Grogu, which wrapped filming this year and might even be due a teaser trailer over the Summer.

The spin-off film will likely follow a new adventure for Din Djarin and his adopted son, as Grogu trains to be a mandalorian like his proud papa.
The future is looking pretty bright for Star Wars all things considered, and it’s relieving to hear that the next trilogy is being helmed by solely Simon Kinberg rather than multiple filmmakers, as perhaps it means we’ll get a cohesive story this time around.
