Marvel fans are torn over a rumour related to the currently untitled MCU movie, Spider-Man 4.
No doubt, when Spider-Man 4 is released, it will be a huge movie for the MCU with the returning Tom Holland, especially after the events of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Check out the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer below!
Without giving too much away, Spider-Man: No Way Home was not only a blast for Marvel fans, but it also had major multiverse implications bringing in returning villains as well as older Spider-Men into the cinematic fray, namely, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Peter Parker.

At the end of No Way Home, Peter Parker makes a heart-wrenching decision about what he believes is best to keep his friends safe, MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon). Whether Parker’s intentions play out how he intends, remains to be seen.
As I mentioned earlier, Spider-Man 4 does not have an official title but that hasn't stopped plot rumours from making the rounds and if this speculation is to be believed, it could make for one hell of a chaotic (and potentially) awesome movie.
According to leaker MyTimeToShine, as per ComicBookMovie, Spider-Man 4 could be set in Battleworld, with Peter Parker visiting Spider-Island.
If you don't know, Battleworld is a patched-together world created by Doctor Doom resulting from destroyed realities of the multiverse collapsing from the incursions. Doctor Doom ruled this planet for nearly a decade under the name of God Emperor.

However, this planet was destroyed by Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four after being given the power of the Beyonders by Molecule Man.
As for Spider-Island, as the name of this island suggests, it’s a version of Peter Parker’s home of Manhattan where all its residents gained Spider-Man’s abilities. However, not every person uses their newfound abilities for the greater good.
In my humble opinion, the concept of Battleworld existing in the MCU makes sense, given that the Fantastic Four movie is on the way along with Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, not to mention the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Spider-Island feels less likely but it could work, even if it’s only featured for a brief couple of chapters in Spider-Man 4, but I will likely be totally wrong on that prediction.

“It makes sense for Battleworld if it's between both upcoming Avengers films. I know people are going to complain it's not ‘street level’,” said Reddit user Conorj398 in a thread.
“Love it or hate it, the prospect of Garfield and Maguire returning is a reality, plus possibly a Stone Spider-Gwen, [Nicolas] Cage Noir, [Oscar] Issac 2099 and more variants. That’s an easy $2 billion for Sony,” said Spiderlander.
“A phase of Battleworld movies would be cool,” exclaimed Paige_Michalphuk.
At the end of the day, this is a mere rumour at this point, so it should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, hopefully, Sony, Marvel and Disney will reveal all in the coming months.
