Marvel fans are torn over who could be the lead hero in the MCU’s Avengers: Doomsday.
When it comes to a vast choice of iconic heroes and villains, but doesn't get much bigger than the world of Marvel. Ever since the first Marvel comic was published in 1939, fans have been immersed in tales involving the likes of the Human Torch, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man and much more.

We are just months away from Phase Six of the MCU with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, a veteran family of the Marvel world. Phase Six will also see Avengers: Doomsday (1 May 2026) and eventually, Avengers: Secret Wars (7 May 2027).

In between both of those Avengers movies, we have a currently untitled Spider-Man movie which will see the return of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.
However, if a rumour is to be believed, we could be seeing Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in Avengers: Doomsday as the lead hero and fans are torn on that prospect.
“Tom Holland's Spider-Man will reportedly have a major role in Avengers: Doomsday,” speculated cosmicbanterofficial.
“It kinda feels like they're throwing all their cards into this movie to ensure it’s a hit,” replied Boy_Sabaw.

“It’s not surprising considering Robert Downey Jr. is Doom. There is definitely gonna be a moment where Spidey sees Doom unmasked and says ‘Tony? Your back!’ before getting slammed into the wall or something,” said SomeArtistonReddit.
“It would be sick if Peter doesn't figure out how to deal with Venom until after Doomsday, so the entire time he's uncontrollably violent,” suggested Master_Freeze, hoping that the symbiote will be introduced in the MCU.
Only time will tell if or when Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will feature in Avengers: Doomsday but I’d say there is a great chance of that happening, especially with RDJ playing Doctor Doom.
The next movie in the MCU is Thunderbolts* which will be released in cinemas on 2 May 2025, which will conclude Phase Five.
