MCU fans united over Avengers: Doomsday major death: 'he's super toast'

Given what happened in the last movie, it does make sense...

Marvel Cinematic Universe fans think they’ve already figured out who exactly Disney is going to kill off in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday, and the last movie the hero starred in does make it seem very, very likely.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to kill off a whole bunch of MCU characters. It’s pretty clear that they’re not playing around when it comes to introducing Doom, and it makes sense to thin the herd given how bloated the franchise has become recently.

So, who are we pretty certain will live? Well, Spider-Man’s film comes out after Doomsday, so that would be weird. Assumedly, a few of the characters from Black Panther 3 will make it out too, although that isn’t a given.

Also, it would be kind of weird to introduce the Fantastic Four in the movie just before Avengers: Doomsday and then permanently murder them all directly after, so I think they’re safe.

But, which deaths are a given? I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost at least half of Avengers: Doomsday’s cast, but narrowing down who is a certainty is no easy task… unless, of course, you’re the folks over on the r/MCUTheories subreddit.

“Ant-Man is likely super toast. Scott's story is done and it makes sense. He got into hero work to protect his daughter and now she's all grown up. The one thing he can't protect her from is the fact that he may die on the job,” commented user RubiconPizzaDelivery.

“As well, it's Cassie's comic book origin story that he dies and she takes up being a hero to honor his memory. Throw in one or two moments of them together with actually good writing and you got a real tear jerker death that sets up a legacy character quite well.”

“I also think that they could “close off” the kang stuff by implying that he feel responsible for setting off a chain of events that resulted in doom,” replied user Ronswansonbacon2.

I can absolutely see this one. I think they kind of have to tie the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania into Avengers: Doomsday, which would potentially make Doom’s arrival Scott’s fault.

I don’t think he’s the type of guy to not let the guilt of that eat him up inside, so a heroic sacrifice of sorts would make a lot of sense.

Would be a shame to see Paul Rudd go, but hopefully he gets his time to shine on the way out.
