Marvel fans hyped as MCU Iron Man sequel back from the dead

Marvel fans hyped as MCU Iron Man sequel back from the dead

Carrying on Tony's legacy

One of Marvel’s upcoming series has seemingly escaped cancellation, and will continue the story of Iron Man from beyond the grave.

Ever since Tony Stark died in Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been different, as recent projects have hinted at who could be Iron Man’s successor.

Speaking of successors, Sam Wilson is our new star-spangled hero in Captain America: Brave New World.

There are a lot of options for who’ll take Tony Stark’s place in the MCU, it’s definitely not Spider-Man anymore as he’s finally flying solo, but it could be Iron Heart or War Machine.

The latter is set to star in an upcoming series called Armor Wars, which was believed to be cancelled as there's been no news on it since its announcement though apparently this isn’t the case.

Marvel fans may have recently seen the Blade film is delayed indefinitely, due to difficulties nailing down directors and a script.

However, it’s now said the reason for Blade’s delay is due to Marvel Studios wanting to focus on multiverse stories instead, which is also why series like Armor Wars and Nova are delayed too. It's refreshing to hear though the word delayed and not cancelled.

The Armor Wars series will follow Rhodey, aka War Machine, and is rumoured to reintroduce Ultron and other characters like Justin Hammer from Iron Man 2.

If any character is to fill Tony Stark’s shoes why wouldn’t it be his best friend who owns their own kickass battle suit?

Of course things might get a little awkward when Tony’s face returns in the next Avengers film, this time belonging to Victor Von Doom as he kicks off the live-action Secret Wars storyline.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it is in a bit of a weird place, and there are a lot of moving parts, but once the Multiverse Saga has concluded, we’ll likely see more grounded storylines, and of course the introduction of the X-Men.
