The MCU is slowly rebuilding faith with its fans, and while some of its latest titles like Captain America: Brave New World didn’t take off as expected, others like the new Spider-Man show have.
Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man gave us a new, animated take on the character that’s completely separate from Tom Holland’s live-action Spidey.

Of course this is the Marvel multiverse we’re talking about so crossovers and cameos are to be expected at some point, but the second season of the latest Spider-Man show is giving us a character we’ve been waiting to see in live-action for ages.

That’s right Spider-Gwen, sometimes known as Ghost Spider, will be making her debut in the series next season, though it’ll be a different version of the character than the one we’ve seen in Sony’s Spider-Verse films.
First-looks at the character’s design are pretty good, sporting a suit far different to what we’ve seen before and it sounds like Gwen Stacey will have been bitten by the same spider that bit Peter Parker.
Some fans aren’t sure this was the right move for the series though, like a Reddit thread that saw one say “I would much rather explore the world of Peter Parker without other spider people for a couple of seasons at least.”
To be fair it’s a good point as we’ve had a lot of Spider-Verse content over the past few years, with TV shows, Sony’s animated films and of course Spider-Man: No Way Home.

“Is it so hard to just have 1 Spider-Man in a show now? Did we really need to clutter this Spiderman with MORE spider people” said another.
Personally, I say we wait and see how Gwen plays into the story, but I can totally understand why there might be some Spider-People fatigue by this point.
