The Multiverse Saga is, so far, not living up to the standard set by its predecessor, The Infinity Saga.
That’s not to say that it’s wholly bad, because The Multiverse Saga has brought us some fantastic projects, but it does feel like something is missing.
Maybe that’s a plural ‘somethings’.

Let’s face it, Kang has failed as a villain - and that’s without bringing the allegations made against actor Jonathan Majors into the fray.
If you ask me, the relatively easy dispatch of several Kang variants early on within this saga somewhat dulled any intrigue.
Yes, these weren’t the most powerful of the Kang variants, but they painted the character as someone who could be easily eliminated.
The variants certainly didn’t leave me yearning for more.

The other thing lacking in The Multiverse Saga is a team-up. Let’s not forget that The Infinity Saga featured a whopping four Avengers films.
The Multiverse Saga won’t see the team reunite until 2026 but in the meantime, a new crossover film is on the way - and the trailer has garnered a rave response from fans.
Introducing the Thunderbolts.
Thunderbolts* is set to launch in May 2025. Take a look at the brand new trailer below.
Thunderbolts* is set to bring together some of the MCU’s greatest misfits and no, we don’t know why the title features an asterisk.

David Harbour returns as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, with Lewis Pullman joining as Sentry.
The film will also star the returning Laurence Fishburne, Rachel Weisz, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Prior to the trailer’s release, very little about Thunderbolts* was given away plotwise, but I can’t say we know much more now.
The group is brought together by a mystery individual, seemingly with the objective of killing them.

I expect that the rest of the film will follow the team as they attempt to get to the bottom of the ‘Who?’ and ‘Why?’
The trailer has garnered a strong response from fans.
“It’s genuinely refreshing to see this movie taking place on Earth, not in some other multiverse timeline crap,” wrote one viewer of the trailer.
‘Marvel’s been missing a good combat-to-combat action. Glad it's been brought back,” added another while one fan said, “Ok, for the first time in a while, I’m excited to watch something Marvel.”

I echo all of those statements. Sorry Avengers, it’s Thunderbolts season.
