Deadpool is known for his questionable antics, but the brutal slaying of two heroes is a stretch even for this Marvel character.
Yet here we are, coming to terms with the loss, and it’s all thanks to the Merc with a Mouth.
Deadpool & Wolverine, while hardly the height of cinematic achievements, is a fun-loving romp, nonetheless.

However, that chaotic happy-go-lucky charm doesn’t apparently prevent Deadpool from being downright cruel when the mood takes him.
Surely you've seen Deadpool & Wolverine by now?
Fans were heartbroken to learn that The Avengers 5 has cut a fan-favourite hero, but we wager they’ll be equally gutted by this news as well.

Wolverine: Revenge is a new miniseries born from X-Men: From the Ashes.
That said, due to it not taking place at the same time, or indeed, in the same universe, it’s allowed for creative license to take control.
And with it, the death of two beloved Avengers.
If you don’t want to spoil the surprise of these brutal deaths, maybe wait until you’ve got a copy of the first issue.

During issue one, Fury recruits Wolverine, Captain America, and the Winter Solider to deal with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
As they make their way to the Brotherhood’s lair, they’re ambushed by Deadpool, Sabretooth, and Omega Red.
This in turn leads to Mastermind operating on the trio to plant bombs inside their chests.
Events seem pretty dire here, but then the now mutilated trio are allowed to leave.

Unfortunately, Deadpool isn’t on board with this decision, choosing instead to detonate the bombs and kill Captain America and the Winter Solider before they have a chance to escape.
“Better to go out with a bang, I say,” Deadpool jokes, “Well, that, and never trust a man with a clicker.”
Wolverine is able to heal himself, but the others... Well, they end up as bloody messes.

It’s a shocking end for the two heroes, especially because it’s at the hands of Deadpool.
If this is only issue one, we’re excitedly anxious to see what else befalls the superheroes we think we know so well.
