This Marvel superhero's MCU story has come to an end.

When a fan-favourite hero reaches the end of their journey, it’s difficult for their fans to come to terms with it.

Sadly, this is part and parcel of being a Marvel fan.

Despite characters we love being dead and gone, there are times when a character manages to have the best ending we’ve seen in the MCU in 16 years.

It’s rare though, unfortunately.

It's time for Venom's last adventure in Venom: The Last Dance

Although this latest hero isn’t dead as such, they’re not going to make a dramatic comeback any time soon.

Speaking to Variety about their future with Marvel, actor Dave Bautista said, “My journey with Drax is over.”

But fear not, for Bautista isn’t through with superheroes as a whole.

“I just would like the opportunity to do a bigger role, a different role,” he explained, “Maybe a deeper role. I’d love to have the opportunity to play, like, an ominous villain in the superhero universe… I’m not done with it.”

Obviously, while fans are pleased that Bautista could come back to assume a different role, they’re sad to learn that Drax will never feature in another MCU film.

That said, they understand why his time as Drax is over.

“He’s given us a lot of performances as Drax, and it’s time to move on. Maybe he’ll return for a movie or special cameo, but don’t think we’ll be getting another trilogy with him,” said jxher123.

Other fans also speculate that Bautista will return to superhero movies, but for DC instead.

“Unless James Gunn comes back to Marvel and personally asks Dave to join him, I doubt he’ll take any offer from Marvel within the next 10 years [...] Plus, if Dave Bautista is joining the DCU for a recurring role, it’s over for Marvel,” commented ntngeez28.

The battle between DC and Marvel may have just started up again, with Bautista acting as the deciding contender.
