Speculation and teasers about Black Panther 3 have started circulating once more, and with their arrival comes one very important question.
You’ll recall that there’s been a lot of noise from both the MCU fandom and critics about the next Black Panther film.
For one, Marvel fans are torn over the latest casting update for the lead role in Black Panther 3.

And secondly, where is Shang-Chi 2?
As per Collider, Black Panther 3 is in development. While this is wonderful news for many MCU fans, there are just as many wondering why other projects are being forgotten.
“This is a real tragedy,” commented Hashbrown4. “One of their best new potential film franchises post Endgame left to rot. I know Simu Liu is crushed by this.”
User Obskuro said, “It's hilarious that we'll see frickin' Trevor Slattery sooner than Shang-Chi again.”

We haven't forgot you, Shang-Chi
Further down in the comments, Sharp_Black added, “It is weird how they straight up shelved Shang-Chi. But I'm very much looking forward to T'Challa II's Hamlet/Simba arc.”
To be clear, Shang-Chi 2 is still going ahead, at least for now.

Still, it’s pretty evident that fans had expected the sequel to happen before Black Panther 3.
Even so, the likelihood is that the next Black Panther instalment won’t be released any time soon considering that Doomsday and Secret Wars seem to be the top priority right now.
What is more, those films will allow cameos from characters like Shang-Chi, thus further setting the scene for a sequel.
There’s then the matter of what “in development” means.

Some believe that, in Marvel’s case, it references “concepts of a plan” rather than anyone actively working on the film.
Despite the Black Panther 3 teaser not quite having the response some expected, other MCU projects are leaving us hyped and desperate for more.
The Fantastic Four: The First Steps trailer has dropped, and, boy oh boy, does it look like the best MCU film in years.
Having watched that trailer, perhaps we should have more faith in Marvel and its MCU plans, even if that means we have to wait even longer for Shang-Chi 2…?
