It’s been a whole year since the incredible ‘Long Long Time’ graced our TV screens. I shouldn’t think I have to remind you but this episode of The Last of Us explored the relationship between Bill and Frank, essentially somehow conveying an epic life-long love story in the space of 90 very emotional minutes.
It was easily one of the series’ best episodes. It’s no surprise that both Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett were nominated for Emmys for their performances as Bill and Frank, respectively, with Offerman taking home the accolade for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. In case you missed it, Storm Reid won the actress equivalent for her turn as Riley in ‘Left Behind’ but I digress. One year on from the airing of ‘Long Long Time’, The Last of Us fans are fondly looking back on it, declaring it to be one of the greatest episodes of television ever created.

“Just seeing the shot of the open window makes me want to start crying,” said a reminiscent beatriciousthelurker on Reddit. “The way I watched this episode at least four times and then watched 20 different people react to it on YouTube after and still got teary-eyed every single time,” added glamourbuss. “This genuinely is one of the best episodes of television I have ever seen,” declared Zyaru.

Bob_Jenko was in agreement, adding, “Totally agreed. I can't think of another singular episode of television that had the same impact on me as this did,” while BefreiedieTittenzwei commented, “Best episode hands down of the season. But also one of the best episodes of any television series in recent memory.” It’s so heartwarming to see how positively this episode impacted so many people.
It looks as if season two is due to feature a few surprises. Reports claim that Catherine O’Hara is in talks to appear as Gail, a new character who’s rumoured to feature across three episodes. My guess is that Gail could somehow be linked to the Seraphites but this is merely speculation. I have no doubt that season two will be just as emotionally affecting.
