Harry Potter fans are blown away by a lost prequel that many probably never knew existed which centres around Sirius Black, and Harry's father, James.
To say that the Harry Potter franchise is huge, would be a massive understatement. Whether it’s the popular novels, movies or Hogwarts Legacy, the Wizarding World has garnered millions of fans across the world with a community that will likely last for generations to come.

The last movie in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 was released in 2011, so it’s fair to say that fans have been eager for new content. Thankfully, that wait will soon be over following the announcement in 2023, that a Harry Potter live-action reboot is on the way from HBO.

However, it seemed that we missed out on another Harry Potter story courtesy of the aforementioned Sirius (Harry’s godfather) and James, both of whom were best friends.
“In 2008, J.K. Rowling wrote an 800-word short story to be auctioned off for charity,” said Redditor Spiritual-Choice228, while sharing the entire story in the thread.
“According to Rowling's announcement of the prequel on her website (no longer accessible), ‘the action takes place around three years before Harry is born.’ That places this story in 1977. I just want to know your thoughts on this prequel.”

“This was such a fun read! I never heard about it before, thanks for sharing,” replied outwait.
“Forever simping for Sirius,” declared crowgroth.
“Awesome,” said SydneyCarton89.
It’s unlikely that this short story will ever get produced into a proper novel, movie or stage play. But at least we can enjoy this charming tale of two of the Harry Potter universe’s unsung heroes.
